Tara and Lukian had a big, amazing Ukranian wedding on the best day of the year (my BIRTHDAY!!!) So I got to celebrate my day with them, and got the gift of witnessing an AMAZING private performance of the world renowned Shumka, which really knocked my socks off.
Here are some of my very favorite photos from their day (please note, vodka is one of the underlying themes of their day! People doing celebratory shots and cheering in Ukrainian at every turn! So great!)
Lukian is an (awesome!!) dancer, and Shumka wrote a special dance to commemorate his wedding. The two ladies in the photo directly below are his older sisters.
And now, the coolest part of a Ukrainian wedding – the Kolymenka! This is basically a huge dance off to traditional Ukrainian music!
